It is pretty widely understood across the political spectrum that the media is biased. The debate is over the direction of that bias. The Media Ideology Mapping Project seeks to answer that question.
The goal of the Media Ideology Mapping Project is to analyze news outlets from across the political spectrum and attempt to chart their ideological biases. We recognize that bias is impossible to escape, and so we will attempt to be open with our processes, rating scale, and rationale over the course of this blog. Success is a process of trial and error, so we welcome feedback and endeavor to learn from our mistakes.
The Media Ideology Mapping Project was started by Calvin Cleary, a librarian and writer in central Ohio, in July of 2020.
